Aficionados of limos may think that the stretch limo is a relatively modern innovation. But that's not so. The first stretch limos were created only a couple of decades after the automobile took America by storm. What is acknowledged as the first "Stretch Limousine" was built in Forth Smith, Arkansas in the U.S. as early as 1928. This mother of all stretch limos was constructed by a coach company named Armbruster. These stretch limos were generally used to convey famous musicians of the big band era. Big band leaders like Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman, and their sidemen, and all of their instruments and equipment on their tours across the US. As a result, these original stretch limos were called as "big band buses". Nowadays, you don't have to be in a big band to rent luxurious stretch limos. They're available to anyone who can afford these luxury rides, from high school kids to high rollers coming into town to play.
